Florestan Bataillie, piano
Pianist Florestan Bataillie (°1992) studeerde in 2010 met de grootste onderscheiding af aan de academie voor podiumkunsten te Gent in de klas van Luc van Loo. In juni 2010 werd hij toegelaten tot de pianoklas van Boyan Vodenitcharov aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussel, waar hij in juni 2013 zijn Bachelorgraad behaalde. Hij volgt er aanvullend piano bij Hans Ryckelynck en schriftuur bij Kristin De Smedt. Als pianist van onder meer pianotrio Impression (met Fien en Riet Van den Fonteyne op viool en cello) volgt hij er kamermuziek bij Dirk Vermeulen en Thomas Dieltjens. Florestan volgt regelmatig cursussen en masterclasses bij gerenommeerde musici, zowel solo als in kamermuziekbezetting. Hij werd driemaal geselecteerd voor het internationale kamermuziekfestival Musica Mundi, waar hij lessen volgde bij o.a. Vitaly Samoshko, Harlem String Quartet, Talich String Quartet, Walter Boeykens en Vladimir Perlin. In september 2011 volgde hij les bij pianist José Ribera op de Hvide Sande Masterclass te Denemarken. In juli 2012 nam hij deel aan het Peter De Grote Festival te Groningen (NL). Daarnaast volgde hij masterclasses bij o.a. Eliane Reyes, Paul Komen, Igor Roma en Ilona Timchenko. In januari 2010 maakte hij zijn symfonisch debuut in het pianoconcerto van Grieg onder leiding van Rudy Reunes. Samen met zijn broer Ludovic (viool) vormt hij het Duo Adelfoi. Ze werden op diverse stages onderricht door o.a. Guido de Neve, John Whitelaw, Vegard Nilsen en Wim Henderickx. Ook werden ze laureaat van 'Music Live' en ondernamen zo een concertreis naar Zagreb (Kroatië). In 2013 tourde hij door Vlaanderen met de muzietheaterperformance ‘Tomorrow we’ll see’ met Wendy Ostir, waarmee hij o.a. optrad op de ‘Gentse Feesten’ en op het ‘Debutantenfestival’ Amsterdam. Florestan nam als solist met succes deel aan enkele wedstrijden. In 2006 won hij de eerste prijs op het concours 'VTB-VAB' te Gent, in november 2010 werd hij laureaat van de nationale Belfius Classics wedstrijd. Als componist werd zijn werk bekroond in wedstrijden als 'De Kunstbende', 'Music Live' en 'Belfius Classics'. |

Pianist Florestan Bataillie (°1992) graduated in 2010 with greatest distinction at the music academy of Ghent with Luc van Loo. He got accepted to the class of Boyan Vodenitcharov at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in 2013. Besides his main studies, he takes auxiliary lessons in piano (Hans Ryckelynck) and music theory (Kristin De Smedt). In November 2014 he was offered the special prize ‘Arnold’ for music history at the Brussels Conservatory. As a member of piano trio ‘Impression’ (with Fien and Riet Van den Fonteyne) he studies chamber music with Dirk Vermeulen and Thomas Dieltjens. Florestan regularly follows courses and masterclasses with renowned musicians, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. He thrice got selected for the international ‘Musica Mundi’ chamber festival, where he studied under a.o. Vitaly Samoshko, Harlem String Quartet, Talich String Quartet, Walter Boeykens and Vladimir Perlin. In September 2011 he took lessons from José Ribera at the Hvide Sande Masterclass in Denmark. In July 2012 he took part at the Peter De Grote Festival in Groningen, NL. Besides, he followed masterclasses with a.o. Paul Komen, Igor Roma and Ilona Timchenko. In January 2010, he made his symphonical début in Grieg’s Piano Concerto, conducted by Rudy Reunes. Together with his brother Ludovic on violin, he founded Duo Adelfoi. They were taught during several courses by a.o. Guido de Neve, John Whitelaw, Vegard Nilsen and Wim Henderickx. In this formation, he became laureate of ‘Music Live’ and was invited on a concert tour to Zagreb, Croatia. In 2013, he toured in Flanders with the music theatre performance ‘Tomorrow we’ll see’ with Wendy Ostir, through which he performed at the ‘Gentse Feesten’ and the ‘Debutantenfestival’ Amsterdam. Florestan is first-prize winner of the 2006 ‘VTB-VAB’ competition in Ghent. In November 2010 he became laureate of the national Belfius Classics competition. As a composer, his work was applauded in the ‘De Kunstbende’, ‘Music Live’ and ‘Belfius Classics’ competitions. |
