Fien Van den Fonteyne, viool Fien Van den Fonteyne (°1989) begon viool te spelen op 4-jarige leeftijd bij Sergio Rogier en volgde daarna achtereenvolgens les bij Lilya Umnova en Tatiana Samouil. Sinds 2004 volgt ze privéles bij Leonid Kerbel. Fien volgt ook de Masteropleiding viool aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel in de klas van Yossif Ivanov. Fien werd verschillende keren laureaat op wedstrijden in België ('Jong-Tenuto', 'Jonge solisten aan Zee' en ‘Belfius Classics'), alsook in het buitenland. Zo behaalde zij in 2001 en 2002 de '1ère Médaille à l'unanimité avec les félicitations du Jury' op het internationale 'UFAM-concours' te Parijs en kreeg zij de 'Eerste Prijs' op het 'Fontys Concours voor Jong Muziek Talent' te Tilburg (NL). Zij ontving daarbij ook een eervolle vermelding wegens beste uitvoering van het speciaal voor dit concours geschreven opgelegd werk. Fien werd eveneens geselecteerd door YoTaM, de vzw ter ondersteuning van jonge talentrijke musici. In 2013 werd zij laureaat van de internationale 'Elski Competition' in Minsk (Wit-Rusland). Zij volgde masterclasses bij verschillende gerenommeerde muzikanten en vioolpedagogen zoals Miguel Negri, Christiaan Bor, Tatiana Samouil en Renaud Capuçon. In 2011 ging ze op stage in Polen bij violist en dirigent Maxim Vengerov, hiervoor kreeg zij van Jan Strick een Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume in bruikleen. In 2012 mocht Fien na een internationale auditie, ingericht door de voornaamste Europese conservatoria, deelnemen aan de 'Encuentro de Santander'. Zij volgde daar masterclasses bij Mihaela Martin, Zakhar Bron, Frans Helmerson en Péter Csaba. Als soliste trad zij reeds op met onder meer het Vlaams Radio Orkest (Brussels Philharmonic), het Symfonieorkest van het Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, het Brussels Chamber Orchestra en het Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus. Reeds vroeg ontdekte Fien haar liefde voor kamermuziek. Sinds 2003 nam ze vrijwel elke zomer deel aan de internationale kamermuziekstage Musica Mundi. Na het spelen in diverse gezelschappen richtte ze in 2011 samen met haar zus Riet (cello) en pianist Florestan Bataillie het pianotrio Impression op. Ze maakt ook deel uit van het strijkkwartet Donnacorda. Fien speelt regelmatig in verschillende orkesten zoals het Brussels Philharmonic, de Vlaamse Opera, het Brussels Chamber Orchestra, Prima La Musica en het Nationaal Orkest van Belgie (NOB), onder leiding van Michel Tabachnik, Dmitri Jurowski, Dirk Brossé, Dirk Vermeulen... Sinds haar twaalfde kan zij rekenen op de bijzonder gewaardeerde steun van Stichting Robus. |
Fien Van den Fonteyne, violin Fien Van den Fonteyne (°1989) began her violin studies aged 4 years old in Belgium, with Prof.Sergio Rogier. She continued her studies with Prof. Lilya Umnova and Prof.Tatiana Samouil. Since 2004 Fien studies with Prof.Leonid Kerbel in his private studio and complements her studies with Prof. Yossif Ivanov at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She is currently at the Masters degree. Fien Van den Fonteyne is a prizewinner and laureate of several National and International violin competitions in Belgium, including Jong-Tenuto and Dexia Classics, as well as abroad. ‘YoTaM’ the nonprofit organization that supports young talented musicians and the ‘Inspiratum’ foundation, have selected Fien Van den Fonteyne to be part of their program. In 2001 and 2002 Fien Van den Fonteyne won the '1er Médaille à l'unanimité avec les félicitations du Jury' at the international UFAM-competition in Paris and was awarded the 'First Prize' at the 'Fontys Concours voor Jong Muziek Talent' in Tilburg (Netherlands) with an honorable mention for the best performance of the imposed work which was especially commissioned and composed for this competition. In 2013 she was laureate of the ‘Elski’ International music competition in Minsk (Belarus) and in 2015 she was selected for the Queen Elisabeth Competition. For this occasion, the famous luthier Florian Leonhard borrowed her a fine violin by Guarneri del Gesù, Cremona 1735. Fien discovered her love to chamber music in a very early stage of her musical development. Since 2003 she has participated in the 'Musica Mundi' international chamber music course and Festival nearly every summer. Since 2014 Fien became a part of the Young Faculty members in ‘Musica Mundi’. In 2011, together with Florestan Bataillie and her sister Riet, she founded the piano trio 'Impression'. Last year on the International ‘Storioni Toonzaal Prijs’, they won the First Price, the Young Talent Price (omroep Max) and the price of the public. Fien has followed violin master classes with several renowned musicians such as Miguel Negri, Christiaan Bor, Tatiana Samouil and Renaud Capuçon and was accepted to follow violin solo maste classes with the famous violinist Maxim Vengerov. In 2012, after an international audition in different conservatories of Europe, Fien was allowed to participate in the ‘Encuentro de Santander’ International Festival where she had master classes with Mihaela Martin, Zakhar Bron, Péter Csaba and Frans Helmerson. She also attended inspiring masterclasses with Walter Boeykens, Gavriel Lipkind, Vladimir Perlin, Vitaly Samoshko, the Chilingirian String Quartet, the Henschel String Quartet, the Kuss String Quartet, the St-Petersbourg String Quartet, the Talich String Quartet… As a soloist Fien has performed with the Flemish radio orchestra, Brussels chamber orchestra and the Belorussian Philharmonic Orchestra. Since the age of 12 Fien Van den Fonteyne has been helped and supported by the Robus Foundation. |
